  • Annette Macias |  Executive Director

Annette is  honored and excited to be a part of the Love INC ministry. She is an active member of Yosemite Church and has enjoyed being one of the worship leaders there for several years. Being a part of the Christian community for over thirty years has allowed her to develop connections and relationships of

which she is delighted to bring to this ministry as your Executive

Director. Along with her husband, Rick, they had the privilege of owning Christian Connection Bookstore for sixteen years. We were grateful to continue this ministry through Hope Christian Stores for six years where she was manager.

"We serve a God who asks us to love both in word and deed. We are not just meeting the physical needs, but we are here to meet spiritual needs as well. We are sent out to bring hope and Love in the name of Christ."

  • Alex Kelly  |  Clearinghouse Coordinator

Alex absolutely enjoys serving with volunteers who believe in Love INC’s mission and vision. His favorite part of the ministry is home assessments. Recently they went out to a client’s home who graduated from the Merced Village of Hope. They listened to this young man’s story of transition from being dependent upon others to being established again. They could see he loved his children and valued his relationship with Christ. God led Rick and Alex in a prayer of encouragement and the young man with tears in his eyes, said it was what God had been speaking to his heart about.

  • Kelly Perry |  Furniture Coordinator

Kelly is a member of Yosemite Church, a local real estate agent and is active in the local community.

Kelly started volunteering at Love INC after feeling the Lord speaking to her heart to step further into serving in our community. Kelly’s desire is to see the needs of Mercedians and the surrounding cities of Merced County met through the hands and feet of the body of Christ. She is passionate about helping others to see that meeting the basic needs isn’t the calling but that each of us, individually and collectively, by allowing Christ to breathe and shine through us can be the channel to perpetuate the unlimited generosity of God!

  • Andy Tolsma |  Board President

Andy was born to Frisian parents in the Netherlands, baptized as an infant in a small octagonal church nicknamed “the Teapot”  where many of his ancestors are buried.  His family legally immigrated to California in 1952 sponsored by his uncle.  Andy grew up around dairies, but did not take well to cows.  He attended College and became an educator, retiring in 2006.

He was raised in the church confirming his own faith as a youth at church camp.  Without a television, his family spent Saturday nights listening to broadcasts of “The Church in the Barn” from El Monte, California.  Andy sent them some money earned from his paper route.   In high school, he was active in “Youth for Christ.”  He attends Central Presbyterian Church where he has served as Sunday school teacher, deacon, and elder.  He is married to one wife, with whom he has three children, and two grandsons.

In retirement, Andy keeps busy volunteering through Rotary, Disabled American Veterans, and Love INC where he has volunteered and served on the board since 2006.

  • Hub Walsh |  Vice President

Hub Walsh is currently the Vice Chairperson of the Love Inc Board. Rita is presently a kindergarten teacher.  Hub is a father of two and grandparent of three. Hub and Rita are actively engaged in their church, Creekside Evangelical Free, as well as supporters of a variety of faith based community organizations.

Additionally,  Hub Walsh has almost two decades of elected government service in Merced. He was the City of Merced Mayor and City Council member, as well as Merced County Supervisor, District 2.

  • Kathy Wyman  |  Board Secretary

Kathy was born and raised in Merced.  Her family left for a few years because her father was in the Air Force.  They lived in Hawaii and New Jersey.  She had one son, Kristopher.  She now has fur babies, 2 dogs and 4 cats.  She retired from Merced County Office of Education in 2012.

She attends Yosemite Church and she was re-baptized as an adult.  She currently is one of the Yosemite Church’s Grief Share leaders and she also is part of Yosemite Church’s Crisis to Community group.  Kathy also participates in the Yosemite Church Food Pantry.

  • Paul Glass |  Board Member

I was raised in a Christian home, went to church every Sunday and was involved in the youth programs at our church.  I became a believer when I was 10 or 11 years old.

I became a believer at an early age but  didn’t really understand what a true relationship with Jesus Christ was until I was out of college and in my early twenties.

During my college years I walked away from Christ, and really didn’t think much about God or Christ.  After my wife and I were married we felt it was important to get back into attending church.  It was shortly after this that I began to understand what that true relationship with Christ was all about, and I re-committed my life to Him.

Today, I put all my faith and trust in Christ Jesus and have a peace within me that allows me to face each day with the understanding that God is in control and this world is not really spinning out of control.

My wife and I have attended First Baptist Church Merced for 37 years, during that time I have served on the worship team, sang in the choir, lead bible studies, served as a deacon and currently serve on our Elder council.

We’ve been married for 38+ years, have two married daughters and 5 grand-kids (4 boys and 1 girl).

  • Jean Robbins |  Board Member

Jean’s family was always very active in church as she grew up. She accepted a personal relationship with

Christ while at a Junior High Camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains at the age of 13, traveled to Indonesia in

a Christian Exchange program after high school, and attended UC Davis with a degree in Recreation for

the Handicapped. Jean met husband Ken while at Davis, marrying him upon graduation. They moved to Merced in 1980.  Jean obtained her teaching credential at CSU Stanislaus.

She served on the Merced Elementary School Board of Education for 8 years during those years. Ken and Jean have been married 46 years and have 4 grown children and 13 grandchildren.

Jean has been very active in several leadership roles at Central Presbyterian Church since 1980. Our church has been very active with Love Inc over the years, and I personally became connected to it through teaching a Parenting Class for the Backpack program. I have been on the Board since January of 2018. I am grateful that Love Inc focuses on “a hand up” rather than only a “handout”
